I played FFX & FFX2 and the graphics were great. I 'm playing FFIX and the graphics are okay in a cutscene, but when i get control of a character the graphics aren't all that. Is FFVII and FVIII like that. How are their graphics.

X abd X-2 have good graphics because they are playstation 2 games. The lower you go on the list (like from 9 down to 8.) the quality of graphics lowers slightly, until you enter the realm of 2D. Personaly I like the old school 2D games.. but thats just me.

Well obviously ff7 has the lowest quality of graphics from your selection, since it IS the oldest. But I agree with Chaos...I'm rather fond of the old skool games anyway.

FFVII did have kinda bad graphics on the field... good for it's time, but you look at the difference in the quality of the characters compared to eight...
Yeah, old skools the way to go. Just seeing the characters laugh on FF6 really makes my day. |

Yes, Final Fantasy VII does have the worst graphics of your selections. Everything's cubed, at least when it's in normal. But in an FMV, I still say it has some of the most interesting graphics. There's just something so... dark about them. I don't know.
I know people who love Final Fantasy VIII, but personally I think it's because of their graphics, and they apparently think the opening video was awesome. I didn't really like it, to be honest, since it didn't make a whole lot of sense at all, the only thing there that was really happening at the time was the sword fight. But yeah, I love Final Fantasy IX's and VII's FMV's, and I of course love the graphics in X and X-2. |

i thought FFVI and FFVII were better than later games (despite how much i love X) so i don't think graphics are really that important in making a game brilliant.

That's true. FFVII's still my favourite, even though I admit the graphics are rough in places. Dosen't matter with it's fantastic storyline and memorable characters *gets all teary and nostalgic*
Although I was really blown away by the graphics in FFX. I sat through the opening FMV practically drooling. And NOT because of a certain pretty boy. |
